Hey everybody!
I
hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year’s and had good time with your families. We really enjoyed our time at home and are getting back in the swing of things here in Georgia. I (Lisa) just wanted to write a quick note to let you know our upcoming schedule.
This week
Scott is leading two days of planning meetings in the office. I will be going in to help as well. He is trying to put together a comprehensive training program for new staff who will be living overseas. Many of our current staff are coming together to help brainstorm and work on this, so we are hoping that by the end of the meetings we will have a great plan in place. We would appreciate prayers that the Lord would lead us in these meetings and the future training would be a blessing to new staff.
Feb 8-12
we will be in Seattle for the missions conference at Boulevard Park Presbyterian Church. We are looking forward to having that time with our church family there and to connect with friends.
Feb 16 – Mar 1
Scott will be traveling to South Africa to visit three of our bases. He will spend time with the staff at each location, get a feel for their lives and ministry and encourage them as much as he can. He will also be traveling with some prospective staff couples so he will be processing the experience with them and helping to decide if South Africa will be a good fit for them. I was originally going to accompany Scott but with the baby on the way we decided I would sit this trip out. Scott will be updating our blog during the trip as often as he can so you can follow along and see how it’s going!
Baby Nelson Update
: We had our 20 week ultrasound last week and the doctor said that everything looks
good. It was amazing to see that little baby in there – arms, legs, face, heartbeat – amazing! AND, we found out that we are having a little baby boy
J
. So, that’s the big news on the baby front. We can’t wait to meet the little guy, we’re pretty excited! Below is a picture of the baby for those of you who are talented at deciphering ultrasounds – quite a talent if you ask me!
Well, that’s all the news I can think of. We love and appreciate each of you. Thank you for your friendship and encouragement. If there’s any way we can be praying for you please let us know, it would be our privilege. Have a great week!
Love,
Lisa & Scott
