I got frustrated at my blog a couple days ago. I had just loaded some new pictures and I was about to insert them into an article I had just written when I hit the wrong button and the article was gone. Having gotten way to little sleep I didn’t have the margin to work on it again so I did what any well balanced person would do, I slammed my computer shut and threw it onto the bed walking away disgusted. And now two days later I finally have the margin to try again. Having learned my lesson I am first typing things in Microsoft Word for safe keeping.
I am presently sitting at Starbucks while I wait for Babies-R-
Us to open. I just dropped Lisa’s mom off at the airport and I thought I would take advantage of the trip to pick up a couple things that we forgot last time we were there. I can’t tell you how great it has been to have an experienced mom around this first week. And for Lisa to have not just any mom, but her mom, has been amazing. The second shift arrives tomorrow in the form of my mom. For all the guys out there who are cringing at all the references of “mom’s;” all I can say is that reality is much different than the dream world you imagine when you think of having your first child. There is so much to learn and do that you are grateful beyond words for the undying commitment of grandmothers! They are the miracle workers in the world of children.
Ok, enough of me droning on about the details of life. Most of you probably aren’t even reading this. What you came to this page for was pictures. Pictures of my son Luke who is on his 10th day of life today. I hope that the pictures I am including do not disappoint. There are more in the picture gallery as well, but I am including a few of my favorites here.
Lisa’s parents are coming back in a week and a half and I am sure a lot more pictures will be taken then. I know this because Lisa’s Dad is an unstoppable force with his camera. He is the designated picture taker for the family and he relentlessly fills this role. It is great for me since most times I forget my camera in a drawer somewhere and even when I remember to bring it along I usually forget to take pictures. I am pretty sure that the only time I will fulfill people’s picture quota of baby Luke is when Lisa’s dad is here taking pictures.
Enjoy these for now,
Scott
Nice article Scott. I will try and live up to your expectations.
