Quick Trip to Kenya and Prayer Requests

Hey Friends,

I wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know what the next couple weeks looks like for us.

Lisa:

Lisa has been continuing to see doctors and we are focusing on her health. She has been seeing an endocrinologist here in central
California
for the past few months. He has made some adjustments to her thyroid medicine and also believes that she has PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). So, she is now on a new medication that will help to regulate out her hormones (this condition has caused her hormones to be out of balance.) It is good to get some answers and to take forward steps.

She also seems to have a parasite of some sort left over from
Kenya
. She is seeing an infectious disease specialist this week and has an abdominal CT scan on Tuesday morning to try to figure out exactly what is happening. Once they identify the specific problem they will be able to treat with antibiotics. We would really appreciate your prayers that this could be handled quickly and easily as it is just adding another layer of complication to her recovery. Thank you so much for your prayers for Lisa – this process can be discouraging at times. Please pray that the medications will do what they need to and that her body systems would come back into balance.  Things are improving but not as fast as we would like. We continue to trust God and see His hand leading us in everything.

Scott:

I, Scott, will be in
Kenya
by the time you receive this (May 6-19th). I will be in country for about 11 days and will:

* Travel to
Uganda
May 8-13 to help debrief the First Year Missionary Team as well as spending time with the staff

* Finalize details for summer trips in
Kenya

* Work on some legal documentation for our orphanage and school

* Meet with our local pastors and neighborhood friends to take care of rent payments and many other misc details that need attention

* Meet with a pastor and his wife who are interested in becoming the house “parents” for the orphanage

There is MUCH to do while I am there and so I would ask that you would pray for God’s wisdom and strength as I try and focus on the things that matter. The leaders are really tired at this point in the year and I am hoping to encourage them and give them some support as they finish strong.

We will be in touch again soon but I wanted to at least touch base and let you know what the next couple weeks looked like so that you were up to speed with our lives.

We appreciate all your prayers and encouragement,

We love you all,

Scott & Lisa
