The last few days have reminded me that the wheels often turn slower than you want when overseas. Especially when you are only there for a short time. I spend the last few days doing a fair amount of logistics and yet don’t feel like I have accomplished near enough as our time in

Kenya
draws to a close. And as I look at the last couple days I am reminded that the time spent with the people here is far more valuable than the things accomplished.

As I went through the list of things still to be done I realized that much of it will have to be managed from long distance. We were able to get a good start on a number of things though. We managed to get one of the vans mostly fixed after a hard few months on the roads. The engine was rebuilt and the shocks replaced and now it is headed to the body shop for some more work and some new paint. After that the next van will take its turn in the shop.

I managed to make final arrangements with our house as well. It is up for sale but we have friends staying there for the next couple months. I was concerned that I would have to find them another place to stay for the last couple months but we were able to make arrangements for us to rent the house for the next couple months until they head back to

Canada
. Since we are losing the house Lisa and I have spent more time packing up the house than we had planned and although it has taken us allot of time at least it saves our friends from having to do that work for us when the sale of the house goes through. It also gave us some closure for our time in

Kenya
. It still feels as much like “our” home as any other place but as we pack things up it makes our move home seem a little more permanent for now.

Denise and I went looking for land the other day. I would post some pictures of possible land but the internet has been miserably slow lately and so I will do that later. But we did find some good pieces of land that our options. Now we have to find out exactly the size and price of the land so that we can start the negotiation. I was hoping to be around for that part because it can be a “tender” process but since I leave tomorrow I will leave it to Denise and Pastor Simon for now. Continue to pray that we will have God’s favor in that process and that he will provide us with something that is just the right size, price and location.

In the next 24 hours we are hoping to get in some more good time with the staff here and some of our friends in the neighborhood, to tie up a few loose ends, and to finish moving and packing up our house. You can pray that we don’t have any problems with the luggage we are bringing home. We have a voucher for an extra bag each but sometimes they get pretty irritable at the counters when you are checking in. So please pray for God’s favor as we make the flights home.

From here we are off to

England
. I haven’t heard much from the leaders of that team so I don’t really know how things are going but pray that God would give us wisdom and insight to know how to help them as we head there for the next few days. We should arrive

London
on the morning of the 6th and then we will get a car and drive up to

Manchester
to spend 4 days with the team there. After that it is just one more flight to make it back to the homeland!

Thanks again for your prayers and support,

More soon,

Scott
